In May, the cable cars on Zugspitze and in the Garmisch-Classic area as well as the cogwheel train are temporarily out of service for construction work, technical safety checks and maintenance work.

ZUGSPITZE

May 22^nd to 24^th, 2023
Zugspitze is completely closed on the German side. The Tiroler Zugspitzbahn cable car is open. A rail replacement service runs on the valley section between Garmisch and Kreuzeck.

GARMISCH-CLASSIC

ALPSPITZBAHN CABLE CAR

The Alpspitzbahn cable car is closed for inspection work up to and including May 26^th, 2023.

HOCHALMBAHN CABLE CAR

The valley station of the Hochalmbahn cable car will be completely renovated in spring/summer. Therefore, the Hochalmbahn cable car is expected to be closed until the end of August. Due to the construction site, the Hochalmweg is also only accessible to a limited extent.
